Forte EX and SX , what the diff ?

In term of pricing, it abt 5k diff. I am juz wondering if its worth to get SX version

You can get an answer here or in google by doing some re-search. Basically you either save 5K or do aftermake to become your own SX model.

I feel it's definitely worth the $5K difference.

Trust me the 4 disc brake comes it real useful. Rear drum brake can't handle some of the stress. It saved me from accident already never in my life I have braked so hard in my decade worth of driving

Back to the topic, I'm deciding between the 1.6 EX and SX. My wife says simple simple can liao, so wants to save the $5k and get the EX.

I did some simple checking and found that the differences between EX and SX are:

1. Airbag (EX-1, SX-2)
2. Traction Control (EX-N, SX-Y)
3. Sports Rims (EX-15", SX-17")
4. Reverse Sensors (EX-N, SX-Y)
5. Auto Climate Control Aircon (EX-N, SX-Y)
6. Chrome Door Handles (EX-N, SX-Y)

Items like Reverse Sensors are usually given as freebies anyway and stuff like Traction Control, Climate Control Aircon and Chrome Door Handles are just frills that we can easily live without. How often do we engage traction control anyway?

In fact, I was told the 17" Sports Rims will affect the car's pick-up speed, though I don't know how true that is...

IMHO, the differences aren't that great and not worth the $5k difference unless you want the extra airbag.

Any bros out there with a similar or different view? Anything I missed out there?

airbag - extra protection
traction - extra protection
sports rim - nicer looking...better cornering/stability at higher speeds

reverse sensors - important!
auto climate - frill
chrome - frill
red light for centre cluster + trip computer = frill...but i think trip computer is pretty impt

Pay the $5K. You won't regret after that like what many bros have mentioned. Just the 4 disc brake and additional airbag alone, I already feel that it is worth the money. You will realise that $5K is peanut to additional safety when you really need it.

Is this the first time you own a car? How long you want to keep your car? I suggest that you get SX if you are intending to keep for at least 5 years. This is because your lust for better features (keyless access, 4 disc brake, Keyless Entry with Remote Boot Release, rear parking assist, etc) that your car does not come with will definitely come after you have owned a car.

If you really want simple simple, I suggest you don't go for Forte EX. Go for other car make.

If I recall correctly, the difference between the OMV of the SX and EX is about $3k. So basically, you pay $2k more for the added features

airbags and traction control cannot be considered to be frills. what is 5k compared to you and your wife life?

True. When i was at the showroom, i saw the SX. then went to the carpark to see the EX (SE brought me up cause i ask to see sample). LoL. immediately walk down and decide SX.

The only thing i don't really like... is the 17 INCH RIMS!!! lolz. too big for me, and next time change tires $$$$$$

Side question... how do i change the height of my steering wheel?

There's a lever under the steering wheel. you have to unlock and then pull your SW towards you. Then remember to lock back the lever.

oh... and i thought there was a switch somewhere near the push-start area. lolz. thanks!

From what I read so far, the trim (EX or SX) does seem to affect the FC. I don't suppose it's the weight since they aren't really that different, but maybe the 17" sports rim perhaps?

Any bros want to clarify this?
